The City of West Palm Beach and Grassy Waters Conservancy thank all who participated in our 2020 Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Photography Contest and Youth Photography Contest. It was great to see so many beautiful images of the flora, fauna and Preserve.
The 2020 Nature Photography Contest had 277 entries and raised over $4,000 for Conservancy projects and programs at the Preserve. Our first ever Youth Photography Contest had 50 entries. We are particularly excited to announce that the Nature Center’s Choice, the photo which will be the 2020 Preserve poster, was from the Youth Contest.
The Conservancy thanks our contest judge this year, professional photographer Jerry Ginsberg.
Due to the Coronavirus, we were unable to hold our opening exhibition and other contest events. We hope to reschedule those events when the situation allows and will update all contest participants. While we were not able to have the events as planned, the Conservancy thanks its contest partners the Armory Art Center and Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach.
Congratulations to all the 2020 Winners and Honorable Mentions! The 2020 Nature Photography Contest Grand Prize is “Snow Moon” by Jake Packard, Nature Center’s Choice “Harmony” by Isel Neira, and People’s Choice “Smile For Me” by Joel Santisteban. The Youth Photography Contest 1st place is “Dark Landscape” by Ansell Borges.
All the 2020 contest entries can currently be seen on the Conservancy website, www.grassywaters.org, contest pages by clicking view entries.
All the honored photographs will be displayed on the Conservancy website, www.grassywaters.org, as soon as possible. We will be sending an email to all contest entrants with the results so they will not have to wait for the website to be updated.
