2021 Grassy Waters Conservancy Interns

(June 16, 2021) For the fifth year Grassy Waters Conservancy is pleased to announce that we are the recipients of a Kate Svitek Memorial Foundation grant. This grant enables the Conservancy to offer an innovative summer program at Grassy Waters Preserve for children attending West Palm Beach’s school and community summer camps.
This year over 40 college students applied for these internships. The two applicants selected are Emily Kolankiewicz and Elizabeth Roda. Emily is a junior at Nova Southeastern University majoring in both Environmental Science and Marine Biology. Elizabeth is a senior at Eckerd College majoring in Environmental Studies. These interns will undergo a week of training to learn about the Preserve and its importance to the community, and to work with the campers both on site and virtually. At the culmination of the internship, Emily and Elizabeth will be expected to create Legacy Projects that can be used by children in the future to learn about the importance of Grassy Waters and preserving the natural environment.
All the funds raised from Conservancy memberships are used to support our intern programs. We hope you will consider becoming a Conservancy member and supporting this program.
