Intern Presentation
Reynard Dianand, an Environmental Science student at Palm Beach State Collage recently completed his semester long internship at Grassy Waters Preserve. On April 23rd, he presented his findings to Preserve staff and Grassy Waters Conservancy board members.
His project was titled “Biodiversity in Public-Accessed vs. Restricted Habitats”. Through the use of motion activated game cameras, placed in both public and restricted areas of Grassy Waters Preserve, Rey looked at the difference in wildlife between the two areas. Bobcats, deer, hogs, opossum, raccoons, birds and rabbits were all frequent visitors. While more studies could be done, it appears that the Preserve wildlife is tolerant of the human presence.

Grassy Waters Conservancy congratulates Rey on his excellent work and his upcoming graduation.
