Introducing Adaptive Paddling

(February 15, 2021) Thanks to the generous help of the Ibis Charities Foundation, the Conservancy was able to purchase adaptive paddling equipment for the Nature Center at Grassy Waters Preserve. This equipment will enable the staff at the Preserve to better serve the community by making it possible for people with limited physical ability to enjoy the positive physical, mental, and social aspects of time spent on the water. This equipment will help the staff at the Preserve to achieve their goal of greater inclusivity, and streamline the process of helping more people enjoy the guided paddling programs with greater comfort and independence. Currently the staff is training on the use of this equipment, designing new programs, and looking forward to getting back out on the water when in-person programs are resumed.
